The Summit Restaurant, Mt Coot-tha

When a restaurant has been in business for more than 30 years and is still popular, someone must be doing something right. The Summit Restaurant at Mt Coot-tha is a popular choice for all kinds of celebrations, but it is a wonderful venue for a wedding.

The Summit can host both the ceremony and reception. Ceremonies take place in the Pavilion, a wonderfully cool and shaded deck area offering panoramic views over Brisbane and providing welcome relief from the city’s hot, humid summer days, or in the nearby Botanic Gardens.

Receptions are held either in the Fountain Room, a dedicated function room on the lower level, or upstairs in the restaurant.

The Summit offers a variety of wedding packages – reception only, ceremony and reception and ceremony and drinks options, but each of these can be customised to suit each couples’ unique requirements and budgets. The packages start from $89 per person. Additionally, The Summit offers a range of seasonal and weekday wedding specials that make their packages even more attractive.

Although there are plenty of great spots for photos at The Summit, the beautiful Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens are a five minute car trip away and offer a myriad of opportunities for fantastic photos.

The Downside – The Summit shares its space on Mt Coot-tha with the super busy Kuta Café and a scenic lookout. Although the ceremony and reception areas feel quite private, the crowds and the traffic can be quite overwhelming and parking is at a premium particularly in holiday times and at weekends.
